Tony Dungy Helps Save Kids from Sudden Cardiac Arrest

TAMPA, FL — Each heart beat keeps us alive, but health experts say 7,000 children die each year after their heart suddenly stops.

Many are athletes like Matthew Miulli, who in 2005, collapsed on the baseball field at Alonso High School. His parents knew their son had a heart condition but doctors and coaches, including one of the bay areas most famous, admit most parents don’t.

“Kids can be at risk. Most kids aren’t but if you are a parent and have a child that is at risk and you can find out it’s a wonderful thing,” said Tony Dungy, who was at Plant High School Monday.
