Screening Attended: Norristown High School

Activities: football, basketball, baseball

Diagnosis: Long QT Syndrome

How has life changed: I don’t play football or basketball anymore, and I have to take it easy in gym class. I take medicine every day. I can still have fun with my friends, but I need to be careful.

Message to Simon’s Fund: What can you possibly say to someone who has saved your child’s life? People tell us how sorry they are that Kyle cannot play certain sports or do some “normal” things a 13-year-old boy should be doing. We don’t look at it that way. We look at how fortunate we are to have a Fund like Simon’s Fund that saved our child’s life. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t thank God for the free screening and think how this could have had a terrible ending. A simple thank-you would never be enough, I really can’t think of any word to describe the gratitude that my family, friends, Kyle and I have towards Simon’s Fund. Thank you to Simon’s Fund for the awareness you bring to Heart Screening and for making my story have a happy ending.
