LOUISBURG, Kan. — A few weeks ago, the KCTV5 investigative team told viewers about a groundbreaking school death study that identified sudden cardiac death as by far the No.1 reason kids die in school.
After the story aired, KCTV5 learned more about a life-saving solution in Kansas City that could save kids’ lives.
KCTV5’s chief investigative reporter Dana Wright looked deeper into the subject for a special report. One local cardiologist said on average sudden cardiac death strikes about two student-athletes every year in the Kansas City area. Sadly, death is often the first and only sign that anything is wrong with the victims.
